Hidden worlds watch over us.

The faeries of the Island of Roses live on the nearest of these worlds, in the North Atlantic, on an archipelago of islands in the realm of Hy-Danann. Some of them journey here to face the Anakha, remnants of darkness from a struggle that began long ago.

On the Island of Roses, Aster of Hódónse first glimpsed the outer earth and the island of Ogygia when he was a boy, playing on the vast beach of the Archelon. He dreams of making the journey someday.

When he grows older, he leaves his village, through the island’s mountains, volcanoes, and forests of immense trees.
His dream brings him on a path of memories unbound by time, guided by ancestors beyond his own realm, deep in the Rose of Stars.

He meets others who share his path. They sail north to join the Order of Pearls, preparing for their journey aboard an Illurian ship. Through the mist of a fjord, they arrive in Ogygia at the walled village of Séd on the shores of a lake, but not in the way they expected.

What Aster and his fellow Pála face, here where faeries have forgotten the powers they once held, will take far more strength than he ever imagined.
